Preview: David Zollo and the Body Electric

David ZolloI know, the Freakin’ Weekend post went up yesterday.  End of the blogging week.  Then we went ahead and amended it and made your Thursday selection more difficult (hope you had a good one regardless of your decision), and now, look, we’re going to complicate Friday for you.

Iowa City’s roots music journeyman Dave Zollo and his Body Electric band will be rounding out a fairly furious stretch of Iowa shows tonight at the Mill.  Zollo’s got the kind of whiskey-soaked wail that roughed-up fifty-year-old bluesmen would kill for, bolstered by what has to be a set of the finest key-twinkling digits in the 319 area code.  So get your football weekend started off right, with a heapin’ helpin’ of down home soul-laced honky-tonk.  Can you think of a better way to get warmed up as we cool down here in Iowa?
