Tonight: Unknown Component CD Release show @PS1

Hey y’all.  If you’ve been paying attention for the last few weeks, you might have noticed a string of Unknown Component shows all leading up to this big night: the CD release party for In Direct Communication, Keith Lynch’s latest self-released record. Our friend Kent Williams over at The Little Village has already had a listen and given it a well-deserved glowing review.  I’ve also had a chance to give In Direct Communication a few spins, and it’s a fuzzy gem of earnest songwriting and catchy hooks. Lynch sounds tossed-off but focused, and really reminds me of some of my favorites in this genre: Joseph Arthur, Freedy Johnson, and Ben Lee, to just name the most obvious.  But, connect your own dots tonight when he takes the stage at Public Space ONE in the basement of the Jefferson Building tonight at 9.  (Speaking of PS1, there are some major show announcements coming up in the next day or two, so stay tuned.) As for right now grab the CD at the show tonight, give it a spin, and come back and let me know what you think in the comments section.  For now, I’ll give you track 2, “It’s a Fine Line,” to marinate on.
