Welcome to the Mission Creek Festival page. What is the Mission Creek Festival? It’s a five-day celebration of honest music and art that takes place in downtown Iowa City. Specifically, the festival takes over the venues of Iowa City (clubs / cafes / bookstores / houses), creating an easily navigated nexus of fine entertainment, from folks playing beautiful roots music on antique guitars to people making noise with small electronic boxes. The cornerstones of the Mission Creek Festival are music and literature though there is always a small but impressive visual art component. The 2009 Mission Creek Festival takes place April 1st - April 5th.

There are a lot of ALL-AGES shows at this festival and quite a few FREE shows, so *everyone* is welcome at Mission Creek! The best way to enjoy the festival is to buy a limited-edition ALL-ACCESS FESTIVAL PASS which gets you into everything. You can also get individual tickets for shows. Advance tickets for Picador shows are available at the venue as well as the Record Collector and online at Ticketweb. Advance tickets for Mill and Englert shows are available online at Iowa Tix.

Venues: The Picador, The Mill, Cave of Spirits, Englert Theatre, Iowa City Yacht Club, Prairie Lights, Public Space One, Java House, Iowa Memorial Union, and one more TBD.
