While you may already be thinking ahead to that other concert this week, tomorrow night Phil Elverum is coming into town to play under his Mt. Eerie moniker. Elverum is the man behind The Microphones, and from what I have heard he puts on extraordinary (and often all-ages) shows. So come out early tomorrow and be sure to catch local songsmith Caleb Engstrom, who set coffee shop hearts ablaze a few weeks ago at the Pygmalion Music Fest. Hopefully he’ll do his cover of Brian Wilson’s “Roll Plymouth Rock.” Here’s an mp3 of his for you, which he was kind enough to lend me when I helped compile cokemachineglow’s Iowa City scenecast.
