80/35 Lineup Announced: Public Enemy, Stephen Malkmus & the Jicks, Matisyahu

Ah Des Moines, our fine state capitol. You should go visit it sometime, you know? And what better weekend than Independence Day weekend? Des Moines’ two-day music festival, 80/35, returns for a second year of fun in the sun, featuring a little of something for everybody, from indie rock to hip-hop to AOR to electronica. Last year was a party to be remembered with mainstage headliners like Frank Black and the Roots and (free!) side-stage antics from the likes of the Poison Control Center and Cracker.

This year’s fest will feature hip-hop legends Public Enemy, frat-rock fave Ben Harper, and Iowa’s best rock band ever House of Large Sizes. Other acts include: Matisyahu, G. Love and Special Sauce, and Girl in a Coma. The festival takes place in Western Gateway Park on July 3rd and 4th. You can get advance tix for the festival at IowaTix. We suggest you buy early ’cause you don’t wanna show up and get left out.
