Wolves in the Attic

Presenting: Electronic Hearts, the debut record from Ames, IA quartet Wolves in the Attic. The band, which consists of Eric Moffitt, Trent Derby, Nicklas Parks, and Justin Niceswanger, has been spending 2008 traversing the Midwest to play a series of shows that coalesced in the late fall tour supporting the debut. Wolves in the Attic have opened for awesome bands such as the Faint, HEALTH, Titus Andronicus, and others. No breath on Wolves in the Attic has been uttered without their undeniable link to the groove of the alternative 90s. And not the alternative 90s that MTV would have you recall, but the real alternative 90s, where bands like Pavement, Archers of Loaf, and Dinosaur Jr. were cutting classic records. Throw in an ear-pummeling live show (think My Bloody Valentine) and a dose of 60s pop psych and you’ve got yourself Electronic Hearts.

Electronic Hearts was recorded at Vaudeville Mews in Des Moines, IA and Future Appletree Studio One in Rock Island, IL by Patrick Fleming of the Poison Control Center and Pat Stolley, formerly of Daytrotter, who also mixed the record. Doug Van Sloun, who has worked with Bright Eyes, Cursive, the Faint, and countless others mastered the record at Focus Mastering in Omaha. Now available in a limited edition run of 200 by artist Justin Kerr (The Blacks, DIY or Else Records). Justin began with 200 vintage hardcover books and turned them into CD cases by cutting out the inside of the pages. Each one is unique. You can browse the new Wolves in the Attic library to choose your own copy at an upcoming show. Wide scale release of Electronic Hearts is planned for February 17, 2009.
