Mission Creek’s Artist-in-Residence program further engages visiting artists and writers with meaningful experiences in Iowa City. Mission Creek Festival 2013 will feature Writer-in-Residence, Roxane Gay. A stunning writer, Gay’s work has appeared in numerous journals including Best American Short Stories. She currently teaches at Eastern Illinois University, is the co-editor of [PANK] Magazine and serves as essays editor at the Rumpus. Gay will visit Iowa City for several days during the festival during which time she will connect with the local community of writers and read from her own work.
