Detroit rappers Black Milk, Slum Village, Guilty Simpson, and Phat Kat have come together to perform as a tribute to the iconic hip hop producer and rapper J Dilla.
These rap artists each hail from Detroit having grown up listening to groups like A Tribe Called Quest and making mix tapes. They have all collaborated with each other on albums and have even joined A Tribe Called Quest as opener on tour.
The influence of J Dilla is evident in their music and has given them name recognition in the underground rap scene of Detroit. Bringing together their own unique styles, these rappers/rap groups honor all that Dilla has done to advance the hip hop industry.
