What a Load of Craft is Iowa City’s original indie / non-traditional craft fair. WALOC started in May 2006 in Iowa City’s Hall Mall as a small event featuring underground crafters, artists, and local bands. WALOC expanded over the years and eventually took over the Johnson County Fairgrounds every December to provide a massive onslaught of handmade holiday shopping, live music, and the infamous Craft Death Match. This punk rock fair returns with a vengeance for another year at the Blue Moose Tap House during Mission Creek Festival.
