WTF? Is it covers week at Mission Freak? Well, after getting all giddy about Chris Perdue’s cover of Joanna Newsom’s “Emily” we thought it would only be right to unleash this other fine nugget we came across. At the end of 2007, Bay Area/NYC rock band the Blacks, dropped a cover of Amy Winehouse’s “Back to Black” for Cokemachineglow’s annual Fantasy Covers Podcast. Where Winehouse was sensuous on this song, the Blacks are just plain vicious. This is a *hot* track. So if you missed it on the ‘Glow check it out again right here and let us know what you think.
