New Music: U.S. Girls

I know it wasn’t too long ago that we told you of the goings on from (I think it’s safe to say) the current musical crush of the missionfreak staff, but she’s so darn prolific.  Just the other day a new track titled “A Day at the Races” popped up on her myspace page.  And as per her usual, this Marx Brothers-inspired track is a goodie.
Things kick off with a swirl of disparate slinky guitar lines and all are quickly joined by beach party-approved tom-tom beat and over top the moans and groans of our very own U.S. Girl.
The whole thing only clocks in at 1:43, but abides by the old showbiz saying, leave ‘em wanting more.  This small slice of heaven is a perfect little taste treat, and wonderful intro to those of you that have missed our regular recomendations.  It could also be a superb springboard for a live performace.
